Construct Tomorrow (CT) is a non-profit organization that brings awareness to high school students about the remarkable career opportunities through registered apprenticeship in the union construction trades.  CT is looking to hire a highly organized and detail oriented Program Coordinator.  Tasks would include coordinating meetings and student events throughout the year as well as other administrative and sponsorship duties for the organization.  


RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

Administrative Functions

  • Coordinate communications/newsletter/website/social media, etc.

  • Monitor website for needed updates and make revisions.

  • Draft various correspondence as required

  • Primary point of contact for all incoming outgoing correspondence.

  • Coordinate with treasurer and accounting firm on billing and payment schedules.

  • Maintain an archival process

  • Update Board Member Matrix (Roles/Committee Assignments/Term Limits)

  • Attend and provide updates in monthly Board meetings. Prepare agenda with Co-Chairs.

  • Schedule and lead Subcommittee meetings.

  • Manage printing & promotional needs as directed

  • Attend ACAM and DLI Apprenticeship meetings and provide updates on behalf of CT.  These are usually held on a quarterly basis.



Event Functions

  • Meet with local event planning committees in conjunction with designated board members on behalf of CT.

  • Coordinate events with ACAM and ensure their attendance.

  • Put together an event packet of information regarding CT events to provide to schools and local planning committees detailing events, expectations, etc.

  • Coordinate event venues/bussing in partnership with local planning committees.

  • Manage databank/collectivity and track registrations from schools as well as trades for events

  • Attend CT Events and assist Board Members with setup and take down. Coordinate all details and materials for the events.

  • Keep inventory of CT supplies and re-stock as coordinated with the Board Members.

  • Coordinate with Building Trades and local media for event exposure.



Sponsorship Functions

  • Coordinate fundraising events/activities, including leading the planning for a yearly CT sponsorship event.

  • Outreach and follow up with construction contractors and suppliers for sponsorships/donations.

  • Assist in fundraising efforts.



  • 5+ years of proven experience as an Administrative Assistant or Program Coordination

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently

  • Background in data base management, or ability and willingness to learn.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and Word, and Outlook)

  • Microsoft Powerpoint is a plus but not required but willing to learn.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic clerical, reading comprehension, spelling, and math skills

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and shift priorities

  • Team player with a can-do attitude

  • Attention to detail and problem solving

  • Affinity for the Construction Unions and Organized labor

  • Excellent communications skills not just with board members but outside the organization


  • 20-30 hours a week. Can be flexible.

  • Available for daytime meetings/calls and event attendance

  • Hourly wage range is $28 - $37/hr
